The large snake in my dream.

Last night, I dreamed about a large snake destroying and burning the houses in our village. It took place in our old house back when I was little, most of my dreams took place in that house even though I live in a different house now.

I only remembered running away from it and found a safe spot which is our old house and then the dream ended.

I was curious as to what my dreams meant.

And this is what I found out.

A big snake in a dream, can testify not only about intrigues and danger, but also predicts recovery and new knowledge. They say dreams about appearance of big snakes, often indicate cunning, evil, or fall. According to Aesop, a big black snake personifies a serious lesson, which is destined to you.

In my dream, the snake was humongous, like that large snakes that we’ve seen in movies. What I’m curious about is that I haven’t watched any movies that involves snakes that could possibly be the reason of why I dreamt of one.

According to professional dream analyst and author Lauri Quinn Loewenberg, snakes — a common dream archetype — typically represent a person in the dreamer’s life who exhibits low, dirty, toxic, or poisonous behavior. However, they can also represent something related to health or healing. Regardless of what you imagine the snake might represent, though,if a snake appears in your dream, Loewenberg says you shouldn’t ignore it.

“Just as you would not ignore coming across a snake in real life, neither should you ignore your snake dreams. There is either a poisonous element in your life that you need to get rid of, or there is healing you need to recognize. Either way, acting upon the message or warning is a very good thing to do.

Interpretation of the Dream

How did the snake made me feel?

I was afraid. Scared and anxious.

They say the way the snake made you feel signifies your own feelings about a situation in your life.

I guess I was really afraid then, stuck, and scared of things I haven’t dealt with.

The dream was terror-inducing…

This will tell you how urgently you want to identify the potential stressor in your life and address it. “A snake within a nightmare is a very good indication that your subconscious feels there is a toxic person in your life that is an immediate threat, meaning their toxic behavior has reached a point where your subconscious has had it and needs to slap you into attention,” Loewenberg says.

Who might that toxic person be?

Running away or hiding from the snake

It meant that my habit of not noticing troubles may cause many inconveniences in the future. Killing it is a sign of unconditional victory over my enemies.

What are the troubles that I might have not notice yet?

The color of the snake

If it was black, then there are still unconscious fears from my childhood which I need to overcome. If my snake was colorful then I do already have a very healthy life instinct.

So, do I still have unconscious fears from my childhood?

The snake was outside…

Conversely, if the snake in my dream was outside, Loewenberg says it “can be a message that it’s time to get things ‘out in the open’ with this toxic person.” She adds: “Toxic people continue to poison our lives because we don’t speak up about it.”

What do you think?

Should I speak up about it?

What do I do?

  1. Interesting post! I often have dreams with the same elements over and over again. I had a dream once in 2016 and there was a big snake! It was black and somewhat muted green. It was not chasing me, but just passing by and I was just in a corner watching. That same year, I had to let go of a toxic relationship. Sad, but I realized later on that it was for the best. I guess that was what the snake passing by meant.

  3. Very interesting..I actually had a large python enter my dream 2 night’s ago..I was sitting on a train and he somehow came through the window and swallowed in slow motion, a man’s head that was sitting in front of me.Oddly enough my only reaction, was to tell the person sitting next to me (not sure who it even was) that we better move to the other side of the this side had that snake. I was not panicked or horrified..just decided it was better to move.

    1. Hi Karima! thank you for such response!💕 Since I dreamt about snakes before I posted this I’ve read some articles about it and in your case, if the dreamer wasn’t that terrified about the snake it will either mean the snake represents a health or healing issue or a toxic person or situation that isn’t in the red alert stage yet. I hope that helps! 😊💕
